I would just let it soak for a few minutes then wash it in warm soapy water and let it dry naturally

Sorry Vicki for the late reply as your message went into the spam folder for some reason. I am not sure where you will get a Mason Pearson hair brush in Melbourne although some of the higher end department stores may carry it. To save some leg work, order online!

Different products are used too at hair dressers, so if you have a sensitive scalp, bring your own shampoo and conditioner. You are right, heat is also a problem, to get your hair looking just right, high heat is used and a lot of brushing. Perhaps you could ask your hair dresser to dry your hair as much as possible by hand before styling it. Happy Christmas!

Could it be that they rub your scalp too hard when they wash your hair? I know I have had that issue. Also, perhaps they dry your hair at a higher heat then you are used to?
