hair care extensions

How do you take care of hair extensions?
I’ve never had them but I’m interested in going to a salon and having them applied, I want the high quality ones. I live in the southwest, the desert to be exact, and I have an active lifestyle.
I just don’t want my hair extensions to stink. I like to swim, walk on my treadmill and go to the park. I just want to know how do I take care of them?
i do almost everything like that too.all i do is wash my hair everyday to make sure my extensions are not dieing or falling out.
so really just wash your hair everyday.
